AESTHETICS was a prime consideration in the design of a new hearing aid now on sale.

US-based Starkey Laboratories set out to create a device that did not look like a hearing aid.

The result is the Zon, which comes in a range of hues that mirror common combinations of skin tones and hair colour.

The Zon, developed by industrial designers and researchers, sits behind the ear.

Behind-the-ear aids have more than doubled in popularity over the past three years.

The Zon has been described as the perfect marriage of cutting-edge technology and design.

It's the only hearing instrument available with BluWave Signal Processing. The result is that unwanted whistling, known as feedback, is virtually eliminated, and talking on the phone is more enjoyable.
